It has great significance in all eastern wedding traditions. over the centuries, mehndi has become so important in Indian tradition that today the mehndi ceremony is one of the major celebrations before the wedding and there is a common belief that the darker the color the mehndi leaves on the hands of a bride, the more will she loved by her husband and mother-in-law. It also has a lot of medicinal properties as it provides relief from stress, fever, and headaches.
